Lovely mini documentary of the Queens photoshoot. Learn a thing or two by watching it a couple times- Annie really has everything to a tee.

Creative Thursday is many things.. An Etsy Store, a gallery, a podcast, and a blog.
Her words are inspiring... i'm listening to the second podcast... There are dozens. I feel like she's talking to me. I've read about others who feel the same too. Download & Enjoy.

Bokeh shapes!

I am a really big fan of bokeh (I use my 50mm for it) and just found the coolest mod you can do to your DSLRs for shaped bokeh :) Hearts, stars, trees... It's neat!

Raindeer Pop Up Card

Over at MarthaStewart.com they have a raindeer pop up card tutorial. It's really simple and adorable. All you need to do is print out the templates, grab some paper, a card, a knife, some glue, a hole punch, and a knitting needle. Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart directed this craft on the show today. Check their website to get insipred.

antler necklace diy

A deer antler necklace
"So I had my husband saw the antler in smaller pieces. The biggest still quite huge, the smallest more in the line of what Alex + Chloe make. Then I drilled holes in two of the pieces. Easy peasy. All you need is a man with a saw and a drill. I haven´t finished the biggest of the necklaces yet, but the smallest is actually the nicest one."

Cat and Bang

London based Cat and Bang calls out to the mermaids, sailors, princesses, and vintage collectors in all of us. "I'm inspired by the paintings of Alphonse mucha, seasons, the ocean, little notions like animals falling in love and keys dropping into ponds as well as just designing and making items I'd like to wear and haven't seen anywhere else!" said Jen, creator and crafter or Cat and Bang. You better get your hands on this stuff while you can, C&B has already been seen in photo shoots for Avenue Girls as well as hairstylist John Carne (featured nationwide) and popularity is rising, which can be seen for the three week waiting period it may take to receive your handmade treasures. Note to self - It's worth the wait.

Approaching Midnight Necklace and Vodka Necklace

Butterfly and Dragonfly hairclips

I couldn't resist putting a picture of Jen in here. This jewelry is so much like her, unafraid to be herself and have rabbits in the bath.

Mushroom Soup

Creamy Mushroom Soup
2 tbsp butter
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 asorted mushrooms, such as shittake and cremini, sliced
1 1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme or 1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
2 tbsp all purpose flour
4 cups chicken stock
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup medium-dry sherry (optional)
2 tbsp chopped fresh chives or parsley

In a Dutch oven or a learge saucepan, heat butter over medium-high heat. Cook onion and garlic, stirring, for 2 minutes until softened. Stir in mushrooms and thyme; cook stirring often, for 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.

Sprinkle with flour; stir in stock, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 25 minutes. Let cool slightly.

In a food processor or blender, puree soup in batches. Return to saucepan. Place over medium heat; stir in cream and sherry, if using. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Heat until poping hot. Ladle into bowls and sprinkle with garnish.

Noulou

When you send a loved one these whimsical and adorable cards not only will you be brightening someones day, you'll be doing the planet a favor too. These hand painted designs are all on recycled paper, so there is no need to cut down those extra trees if you want to say hi to your family and friends. Most importantly, all card sets are on sale for $12, a modest drop in price from the original $15 per set. Grab yours before this great deal ends. Also, Erin Moniotte, the artist of noulou has tipped me off that there may be a "supersale" very soon with some cardsets as low as $8!
